Nicksmas. : ]

I made a onesie for my friends birthday. It has pokemon pictures up each leg and even has a cape. : ] He loved it! Every year we celebrate his birthday with what he calls 'Nicksmas', lots of drinking and merriments. I felt it deserved a special outfit.

AUCB end of year degree fashion show

Today was spent running around backstage at the o2 academy in bournemouth, dressing for FDA Fashion and BA Fashion. It was a fun but tiring day! It was great to see all the collections go down, and to see what fda get up to. The excitement of the quick dress changes gets the blood pumping. I managed to snap a few of the models backstage before they walked, these are a mixture of FDA and BA outfits.

Ioannisdimitrousis

Whilst perusing the depths of the internet I found this gem, Ioannisdimitrousis. Some brilliant texture and colour used in his s/s 2007 collection, also really interesting individual pieces. Properly loving the fringing on the jacket! I am loving the attention to exciting details with the beading, fringing and netting, bringing each garment to life with the intense colours. I'll be diving into his archives to see what else he's produced for sure!

D&G fall 2010

I really liked the shear fabrics used in D&G's collection, and also the feminine dressed mixed with the masculine tailored jackets. The mix of lace, jersey, wools and silks creates a really interesting collection, which some really great garments!


I love love love this dress, the colour, the lace, the shape the everything. It reminds me of slips women wear under dressed.




This is a really cute playsuit, really cosy but the lace details make it more feminine. Also lately all you see is 'summery' playsuits with short sleeves, or strapless. It's nice to see a long sleeved one made from a jersey fabric.

Knit knit knit.

I've been knitting today, knit one purl one knit one purl one...... I'm liking it, and hopefully I will be able to actually start making something soon, other than a simple scarf that is. : ] Pictures coming up of my samples.

I'm going to a fancy dress party in a couple of weeks and would love to knit a 'wheres wally' hat! This is my goal by the end of next week, wish me luck!

Dapper men

Men looking well dressed has always been something I am fall in love with. How a man can put on a good suit and instantly look like a gentleman. Hermes Fall 2010 collection gives me all of this.... a look of ultimate gentlemanly behaviour. Smart looking, dapper and pure sophistication!

Graduate Fashion Week 2010

This year I helped dress at GFW, the first time I'd been, and what a experience! A hectic day spent keeping tabs on models, organising outfits and keeping everything going on time. Until the show was over I had a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach thinking about what if I did something wrong. : S But I needn't of worried! Everything ran so smoothly it was brilliant. All the collections went down the catwalk looking amazing! (puts me in fear of next year though. eeps.)

I am so pleased I took this opportunity, as it allowed me to take a look at the competition and a more thorough look at what is expected in third year. Looking around at various unis portfolios was great, some were incredible; the details on each page, and the extent and quality of the research specifically. It has started me thinking of things I need to work on for next year to develop a just as amazing portfolio.

Our uni, the 'Arts University College Bourenmouth' won three of the four awards we'd been put up for, one being for our stand. Which may be bias, but was so much more exciting than any of the others, far more architectural and inviting. Well done to everyone who was at GFW, everything was amazing!

Collaboration shoot.

A few of us at uni decided to collaborate on a photo shoot with our current work, mixing and matching garments to create new looks. Anna Michell took the shots for us, and I feel she's done a really good job. Here's a couple using my jacket and trousers, with Gwilym Lansley's shirt and jeans.
